10. De la totalidad de las obras recibidas, el jurado realizará una selección para concurrir a los premios, figurar en el catálogo y participar
en la exposición itinerante que se realice por diversas localidades.

11. Las obras no seleccionadas serán devueltas, a portes debidos, por el mismo conducto que se recibieron o recogidas personalmente a partir del 1º de diciembre de 2006, hasta el 1º de marzo de 2007. Las obras seleccionadas y no premiadas se devolverán a portes debidos en el plazo de dos meses, una vez finalizada la última exposición itinerante. Aquellas obras que lleguen devueltas y no sean reclamadas o retiradas en el plazo de tres meses, se considerarán donadas al Fondo de Arte de CAIXANOVA.

12. Las obras seleccionadas podrán ser vendidas en el transcurso de las exposiciones, si previamente ha sido indicado por el autor, que percibirá el importe íntegro de la venta.
CAIXANOVA realizará las gestiones necesarias para poner en contacto al artista y comprador.

13. La entrega de premios se realizará en un acto que se celebrará en el mes de noviembre-diciembre de 2006 con motivo de la inauguración de la exposición. La fecha exacta se anunciará oportunamente.

14. CAIXANOVA pondrá el máximo celo en el cuidado de las obras recibidas, pero no responderá de los desperfectos, robos o extravíos que pudieran derivarse del transporte o accidentes imprevisibles.

15. CAIXANOVA se reserva el derecho de realizar alguna modificación en las presentes Bases que aporten una mayor perfección en el desarrollo del certamen, salvo la disminución o división del premio.
Los concursantes, por el mero hecho de serlo, se entiende que aceptan en su totalidad estas bases.

16. La interpretación de estas bases corresponde exclusivamente a CAIXANOVA.

ENTRY CONDITIONS

The 9th INTERNATIONAL ENGRAVING BIENNIAL CAIXANOVA, “JULIO PRIETO NESPEREIRA AWARD”, is announced with a fund of SIXTEEN THOUSAND AND FIVE HUNDRED EURO according to the following entry conditions:

1. The following prizes will be awarded:
1st GOLD MEDAL and 9.000 euro.
2nd SILVER MEDAL and 3.000 euro.
3rd BRONZE MEDAL and 1.500 euro.
5 HONOURABLE MENTIONS of 600 euro each.
The awards will be subject to deductions corresponding to the tax
legislation currently in force in Spain.

2. All prizes will be awarded.

3. The first prize involves the donation to CAIXANOVA, of the plate or mould together with a numbered series of 50 engravings signed by the artist. CAIXANOVA will cover the cost of printing the series.

4. Those works awarded a prize or an honourable mention will become the property of the Art Fund of CAIXANOVA.

5. Each engraver will enter a maximum of two original and
unpublished works, with no frame and which have not been presented to any other contest in the past. The size of the paper cannot be inferior to 50cm at least in one of its sides, nor superior to 70x100 cm. Furthermore, a technical record card of the work will be submitted including the following information: title, year of execution, specific technique, size of the plate and of the paper, printer and number of prints, a photograph ( maximum size 13x18 cm), for its possible inclusion in the catalogue and a short curriculum vitae of the author, and also a statement of the economic value of
the piece of work so that it may insured and/or sold.

6. Mechanical printing techniques of any kind will be rejected to admission.

7. The entry period will start on February 1st 2006 and will end on July 31st 2006.

8. The works will be presented at or sent to: Area Sociocultural de CAIXANOVA, Cardenal Quiroga, nº 10 - 2ª planta. 32003 Ourense (Spain).

9. The assessing jury will be composed of personalities of acknowledged prestige in the field of the Plastic Arts and Culture.

10. Among the totality of the works received, the jury will make a selection to compete for the prizes, appear in the catalogue and take part in the travelling exhibition to be held in several venues.

11. The non selected works will be returned, at the author’s expense, by the same means they were received. They can also be collected personally from December 1st 2006 to March 1st 2007.
The selected but not awarded works will be returned, at the author’s expense, during a period of two months after the last travelling exhibition.
In the event of any work being returned to sender and not claimed or collected within a period of three months, they will be considered a donation to the Art Fund of CAIXANOVA.

12. The selected works may be sold during the exhibitions if it has been so previously indicated by the author, who will receive the complete amount of the sale.
CAIXANOVA will take the necessary steps to get the buyer in touch with the artist.

13. The presentation of prizes will take place during the month of November or December 2006 to celebrate the opening of the exhibition. The exact date will be duly announced.

14. CAIXANOVA will take its utmost care with the works, but will not be held responsible for any damage, theft or loss which may derive from transporting them or from unforeseen accidents.

15. These entry conditions are subject to be changed by CAIXANOVA in order to improve the development of the contest, except for the reduction or division of the prize. It is understood that the contestant, for the mere fact of entering the contest, accepts all the entry conditions in their totality.

16. The interpretation of these entry conditions concerns CAIXANOVA exclusively. Any question related to this Biennial may be directed to:
