Reglamento

1. El Festimage tiene por objetivo reunir, poner a concurso y exponer todos los géneros, estilos y conceptos de la fotografía y el arte digital fijo;

2. Pueden participar todos los autores que se inscriban y se sujeten a este reglamento, independientemente de su nacionalidad;

Los trabajos

3. El tema es libre;

4. Cada concursante puede participar únicamente con un trabajo;

5. Los trabajos, exclusivamente en formato digital, sólo podrán ser enviados a concurso mediante la ficha de inscripción electrónica incluida en el portal www.festimage.org;

6. Las imágenes no podrán incluir el nombre ni cualquier elemento identificativo del autor; tampoco se admitirán las que estén rodeadas por cualquier elemento gráfico o sombra que pretenda ser una «moldura»;

7. Se admitirán únicamente las obras en formato JPEG, cuyo lado mayor tenga 800 píxeles y el lado menor no sobrepase los 600 píxeles, comprimidas de forma que no sobrepasen los 0.5Mb;

8. Las imágenes que participen en el concurso tendrán que ser fijas (no podrán contener gif animados) e, independientemente de las técnicas usadas, podrán ser:
- fotografías;
- arte digital;
- cualquier otro tipo de imagen digital de expresión artística;

9. Los trabajos remitidos al Festimage deberán ser originales, de la autoría del concursante, no responsabilizándose la organización por eventuales plagios o por el uso de obras de terceros;

Calendario y exposiciones

10. El plazo para el envío de los trabajos se extiende hasta el 15 de mayo de 2006;

11. Todas las imágenes admitidas a concurso permanecerán expuestas en el portal www.festimage.org hasta la fecha de la apertura de la edición siguiente del Festimage;

12. Todas las obras admitidas serán también exhibidas, entre el 8 de julio y el 30 de septiembre de 2006, en soporte multimedia, en los más variados emplazamientos de la ciudad de Chaves (Portugal);

13. Los 50 trabajos más votados por el público serán reproducidos en papel, en formato 30 x 40 cm, y constituirán la exposición que se realizará en el Centro Cultural de Chaves, que transcurrirá del día 8 al día 31 del mes de julio de 2006;

14. De entre los mismos 50 trabajos más votados por el público, la organización escogerá los que ampliará a grandes formatos para su exposición en las plazas y calles de la ciudad de Chaves (Portugal), entre el 8 de julio y el 30 de septiembre;

15. Para poder figurar en las exposiciones antes referidas los concursantes seleccionados, después de ser notificados, tendrán que volver a remitir su obra a la organización, en formato JPEG y una compresión media (nivel 5 de Photoshop) preferentemente con 100 dpi pero obligatoriamente con un tamaño comprendido entre 3 y 6 Mb;

16. Los trabajos clasificados inmediatamente por debajo de los premiados y de los seleccionados para la exposición substituirán en la clasificación (y en las exposiciones) a los que no cumplan el n.º 15 del reglamento;

17. La exposición mencionada podrá presentarse además en otras localidades en que la organización decida promover el Festimage;

18. La organización podrá alterar el encuadre de las imágenes que decida ampliar a gran formato, siempre que los emplazamientos en que se fijen así lo exijan

Votación, jurado y premios

19. Hasta el día 31 de mayo de 2006 todos los visitantes del portal www.festimage.org podrán votar a los trabajos admitidos a concurso, según el método allí indicado;

20. Hasta el día 5 de junio de 2006 los concursantes cuyos trabajos estén entre los 50 más votados por el público, de lo cual serán inmediatamente informados, deberán reenviar sus trabajos a la organización del Festimage, de acuerdo con lo establecido en el n.º 15 del reglamento;

21. Los concursantes no podrán votar por el trabajo que envíen a concurso;

22. El jurado, cuyos miembros no podrán concursar, estará constituido por personalidades de cualquier nacionalidad a quien la organización reconozca mérito técnico y artístico y que accedan a participar en el evento gratuitamente;

23. La organización someterá al jurado los 50 trabajos más puntuados por el público y que satisfagan lo exigido en el n.º 15 del presente reglamento;

24. A los cinco trabajos más votados por el jurado corresponderán los siguientes premios:

25. Los resultados de la decisión del jurado serán publicados en el portal www.festimage.org durante el mes de junio;

26. Si en el plazo de 60 días tras ser avisado de haber obtenido alguno de los premios el concursante premiado no responde o no proporciona a la organización los datos identificativos que se le soliciten, pierde el derecho al premio, que se pagará únicamente por transferencia bancaria;

Disposiciones finales

27. Queda excluido el derecho a recurrir las decisiones del jurado;

28. ALa participación en el Festimage implica la aceptación por parte de los concursantes seleccionados de que sus trabajos puedan ser libremente utilizados, sin fines comerciales, por la entidad organizadora, comprometiéndose ésta a mencionar siempre el nombre y la nacionalidad de los autores cada vez que sus trabajos sean exhibidos o publicados;

29. La organización no se responsabiliza por las eventuales descargas (downloads) que se hagan ilegalmente de los trabajos expuestos en el portal;

30. Cualquier omisión que se verifique en el presente reglamento será resuelta por el jurado o por la entidad organizadora;

31. No se admitirán los trabajos que la organización considere que no se encuadren en los objetivos artísticos del concurso, así como los que incluyan contenidos considerados pornográficos o racistas, que apelen a la intolerancia, a la discriminación o que contradigan de cualquier forma el espíritu del Festimage, expresado en el preámbulo del presente reglamento;

32. Se retirarán del concurso los trabajos que la organización detecte que hayan sido votados por el público de forma no prevista en el reglamento ni en el formulario de votación del portal www.festimage.org.

As Chaves City Hall, in Portugal, wishes to contribute toward bringing about the convergence of various peoples, cultures and civilizations, by means of entertaining and cultural displays, as it makes full use of current communication technologies and the way there so easily overcome borders, bring continents closer together and include all of us in the same global “network,” and creates Festimage - International Image Festival, which shall be governed by the following

RULES

1. Festimage aims to bring together, open contests for and exhibit all the genres, styles and concepts of Photography and still Digital Art;

2. Any author can enter if registered, and all authors are subject to these rules, regardless of their nationality;

Works

3. There are no set topics (open topics);

4. Each contestant may take part with only one work;

5. The works, in digital format only, may be entered into the contest only using the electronic registration form found at www.festimage.org;

6. Images may not include the name or any other element that could identify the author, nor will images be accepted if a design or shadow surrounds it so as to give it a “frame” effect;

7. Only works in JPEG format, whose larger side shall be 800 pixels and whose smaller side shall be no more than 600 pixels, compacted so as not to surpass 0.5 Mb;

8. Images entered into the contest shall have to be still (they may not contain animated gif’s) and, regardless of the techniques used, they may be:
- photographs;
- digital art;
- any other type of artistic digital image;

9. Works sent to Festimage shall have to be originals, authored by the contestant, and organizers shall not be responsible for eventual plagiarism or for the use of works authored by third parties;

Schedule and Exhibits

10. Works must be sent in by 15 May 2006;

11. All images accepted into the contest shall be on display at www.festimage.org until the next edition of Festimage;

12. All the works that are accepted shall also be displayed, from 8 July to 30 September 2006, in multimedia software, at various locations in the city of Chaves, Portugal;

13. The 50 works garnering the most votes from the public shall be reproduced on paper, in 30 X 40-cm (11,81 X 15,74-inch) format, and shall comprise that exhibit to be held at the Chaves Cultural Center, from 8 to 31 July 2006;

14. From among these same top 50 vote-getters, organizers shall select the works to be enlarged to bigger formats and shall put them on display in the squares and streets of the city of Chaves, Portugal, from 8 July to 30 September;

15. In order to appear in the aforementioned exhibits, selected contestants, after being notified, shall resend their work to the organizers, in JPEG format, with an average compression (level 5 on Photoshop), preferably com 100 dpi, but its size must be between 3 and 6 Mb;

16. Those works ranked just below prize-winning works and below those selected to be put on display shall replace, in the rankings (and in exhibits), those works that do not comply with no. 15 of the rules;

17. The aforementioned exhibit may also be presented at other locations where organizers shall wish to promote Festimage;

18. The organization may change the framework of those images it decides to enlarge to bigger formats, whenever this is required because of their placing needs

Voting, jury and prizes

19. Everyone visiting the www.festimage.org website by 31 May 2006 can vote on the works accepted into the contest, as per the method shown at the said website;

20. By 5 June 2006, those contestants whose works are among the 50 vote-getters, as selected by the public, and who shall be immediately notified thereof, shall resend their works to the organizers of Festimage, pursuant to no. 15 of the rules;

21. Contestants may not vote on the work with which they have entered the contest;

22. The jury, whose members may not participate, shall be made up of individuals of any nationality and whom organizers recognize as having technical and artistic merit, and who shall accept to take part in the even, free of charge;

23. Organizers shall provide the jury with the top 50 works, as voted by the public, and which have met the requirements set forth under no. 15 of the present rules;

24. The top five works, as selected by the jury, shall be awarded the following prizes:

25. Results of the jury’s decision shall be announced on the www.festimage.org during the month of June;

26. If, within 60 days after being notified that he/she has won one of the prized, a prize-winning contestant does not reply to organizers, or does not provide organizers with those identification data that they asked to give, he/she shall no longer be entitled to such a prize, which shall be paid only via bank transfer;

Final considerations

27. Decisions rendered by the jury shall not be appealed;

28. AParticipation in Festimage assumes that selected contestants’ works shall be freely used, without any trade purposes, by the organizing body, which shall always pledge to mention the name and nationality of their authors, whenever their works are displayed or published;

29. AOrganizers shall not be responsible for eventual illegal downloads of those works displayed on the website;

30. Any omission occurring in the present rules shall be resolved either by the jury or by organizers;

31. Works shall not be accepted if organizers deem that they do not fit into the contest’s artistic objectives, as well as those that include contents deemed to be of a pornographic or racist nature, those which call people to intolerance, discrimination or otherwise go against the spirit of Festimage, as set forth under the preamble of the present rules;

32. Works shall be removed from the contest if organizers detect notice that they have been voted on by the public in such a way that is not provided for under the rules and in the voting form found at www.festimage.org.
