BASES

La Fundación Marcelino Botín destina 193.172 euros a Becas de Artes Plásticas para formación, investigación y realización de proyectos personales en el ámbito de la creación artística (no trabajos teóricos), para artistas de cualquier nacionalidad.

___La Fundación Marcelino Botín podrá reservar una beca para artistas naturales o residentes en Cantabria, siempre que la solicitud comprenda cambio de residencia.

___Las ayudas serán directas, indivisibles e intransferibles. No cubren las prestaciones familiares.

___El disfrute de esta ayuda es incompatible con cualquier otra ayuda institucional.

1. DURACIÓN

___El tiempo de disfrute de esta beca será de 9 meses. Las becas fuera del lugar de origen, pueden prorrogarse por otro periodo, previa solicitud anual en los plazos de la convocatoria pública.

2. DOTACIÓN

__Sin cambio de residencia: 10.818 euros.

__Con traslado a otro país, distinto al de su residencia actual: 18.030 euros.

__Con traslado a Estados Unidos: 21.636 euros.

__Las cantidades anteriores comprenden los conceptos de viajes, alojamiento, manutención, alquiler de estudio, etc.

___Estas cantidades se incrementarán con el seguro médico y, en caso de las de formación, la matrícula en el centro de formación elegido, previa aceptación del mismo, que serán asumidos por la Fundación Marcelino Botín.

___Estas becas están sometidas a la fiscalidad vigente.

___Forma de pago: 45% al inicio del disfrute, 25% en los dos trimestres naturales siguientes y 5% a la recepción de la memoria final (apartado 4, punto 4)

3. CONDICIONES

___Tener entre 23 y 40 años, para las de formación. Sin límite de edad las referidas a investigación.

___La ayuda se disfrutará a partir de su concesión, por el periodo pactado y sin interrupción. Es imprescindible su inicio antes de finalizar 2006.

___Se considerará definitivamente adjudicada cuando en la Fundación haya tenido entrada la aceptación escrita del solicitante.

4. COMPROMISOS

___La ayuda de la Fundación Marcelino Botín deberá ser citada en cuanta documentación se genere durante el plazo de disfrute de la beca.

___Si de la beca surgiera la posibilidad de alguna publicación, la Fundación Marcelino Botín tendrá derecho preferente a realizarla. En caso de renunciar a ello, en la publicación deberá figurar su calidad de becario de la Fundación Marcelino Botín.

___La Fundación Marcelino Botín podrá, durante el disfrute de la beca, directamente o por delegación, evaluar el aprovechamiento y desarrollo del proyecto presentado.

___El becario se compromete a enviar a la Fundación Marcelino Botín, en el mes posterior a la finalización de su beca, una memoria en que, según los objetivos marcados en la solicitud, se realice una evaluación final sobre resultados y aprovechamiento de la misma, acompañada de la documentación gráfica de los trabajos realizados, en papel y soporte informático. A su recepción se dará por finalizada la beca, abonándose el 5% pendiente de pago.

___El calendario de exposiciones de la Fundación Marcelino Botín se cierra presentando en primicia los trabajos realizados por los artistas durante el periodo de disfrute de la beca, para lo que deberán facilitar la información, documentación y préstamo de obra que se les solicite, procurando no exhibir de forma individual en Cantabria antes de esta cita.

___La Fundación Marcelino Botín seleccionará una de las obras realizadas, que pasará a formar parte de sus fondos.

___El incumplimiento de cualquiera de las normas establecidas permitirá a la Fundación actuar como lo estime conveniente.

5. DOCUMENTACIÓN

___Ficha de solicitud debidamente cumplimentada.

___Fotocopia del D.N.I./N.I.F./pasaporte o documento acreditativo.

___Fotografía tamaño carnet.

___Dirección completa, teléfono y e-mail de origen y posible destino.

___Curriculum vitae, con indicación de estudios realizados, actividades profesionales, exposiciones, premios, becas, etc.

___Memoria completa del proyecto, especificando su objetivo, plan de actuación (fases de desarrollo y fechas) y justificación personal de la conveniencia de llevarlo a cabo.

___Para las becas de formación se debe acompañar información sobre el Centro de Formación elegido.

___Documentación gráfica, entre 10/15 fotografías color, de obra reciente. No se admiten diapositivas o soporte digital, salvo en los casos que la obra lo requiera (net.art, vídeo, etc.). La Fundación se reserva el derecho de solicitar la presentación de obra original.

___La documentación del aspirante debe ajustarse estrictamente a lo señalado en las bases, no excediéndose en la información, material gráfico, catálogos, etc. y se deberá hacer constar en el sobre Beca Artes Plásticas.

___La devolución del material es optativa y debe ser indicada en la solicitud incluyendo un sobre con la dirección y el franqueo correspondiente, o solicitando que se devuelva por mensajería a portes debidos.

6. SELECCIÓN

___El jurado nombrado al efecto hará la selección. El fallo de la Fundación Marcelino Botín será inapelable. El jurado se hará público una vez cerrado el plazo de recepción de solicitudes.

7. PLAZOS

___El plazo límite de recepción de solicitudes finaliza a las 14 horas del viernes 12 de mayo de 2006 en la Fundación Marcelino Botín. Se aceptarán las solicitudes recibidas en la Fundación Marcelino Botín en la semana posterior al cierre de la convocatoria y cuyo matasellos corresponda al 12 de mayo de 2006 o fecha anterior.

___La decisión se dará a conocer a partir del 3 de julio de 2006.

BASES

The Fundación Marcelino Botín awards 182.129 euros for Visual Arts Grants for study, research and the undertaking of individual projects in the sphere of (non-theoretical) artistic work. Artists may be any nationality.

___The Fundación Marcelino Botín may award one grant to an artist from, or resident in, Cantabria, as long as this application involves a change of residence.

___The grants are individual, indivisible and non-transferable. They do  not cover family provisions.

___The grants are incompatible with any other institutional funding.

1. DURATION

___The period covered by the grants will be 9 months. Grants involving  relocation can be extended for a second period, depending on the outcome of a further application made before the closing date of the annual edition of the grants.

2. STIPEND

___Not involving a change of residence: 10.818 euros.

___Involving relocation in a country other than your current residence: 18.030 euros.

___Involving relocation in United States of America: 21.636 euros. The aforementioned amounts include trips, accommodation, maintenance, studio rent, etc.

___These amounts will be incremented to include medical insurance and, in cases of study, the registration fees of the chosen Education Centre, pending approval, will be covered by the Fundación Marcelino Botín.

___These grants are subject to applicable taxes.

___Payment: 45% at the beginning of duration, 25% in the two following quarters and 5% on receipt of the final report (section 4, point 4)3. CONDITIONS

___Applicants for study grants must be between 23 and 40 years old. There is no age limit for the research grants.

___After being awarded, the grants shall be effective for the stipulated period and without interruption. Grants must be initiated before the end of 2006.

___The grants are considered definitively designated when the Fundación receives the written acceptance from the applicant.4. OBLIGATIONS

___Grants awarded by Fundación Marcelino Botín must be mentioned in any documentation produced during the period covered by them.

___If the possibility of a publication should arise thanks to the grant, the Fundación Marcelino Botín will have the first option to produce it. Should the Fundación decide to waive this option, the publication must refer to the artist as a Fundación Marcelino Botín grant-winner.

___The Fundación Marcelino Botín may, during the period covered by the grant, directly or through its delegates, assess the progress and development of the project submitted.

___In the month following the end of the grant, the grant-winner agrees to send to the Fundación Marcelino Botín a paper and PC compatible media report which, referring to the aims outlined in the application, makes a final evaluation of the results and the use that has been made of it, together with visual documentation of the works executed. On receipt of this report the grant is terminated, and the remaining 5% will be tendered.

___The exhibition agenda of the Fundación Marcelino Botín will include an exhibition which premieres the works realized by the artists during the period covered by the grant. To this end the grantwinners must facilitate the Fundación with all the information, documentation and loans of the works that may be required, as well as making sure they do no take part in any one-person shows in Cantabria before this date.

___The Fundación Marcelino Botín will select one of the grant-winner’s works to form part of its collection.

___Failure to comply with the rules outlined here empowers the Fundación to pursue the matter in the manner it considers necessary.

5. DOCUMENTATION

___Curriculum vitae, indicating academic qualifications, professional activities, exhibitions, prizes, scholarships, etc.

___Comprehensive written paper about the project, specifying your aims, plan of action (stages of development and schedule) and your personal reasons for wanting to carry it out.

___For the study grants applicants must include information about their chosen Education Centre.

___Visual documentation: between 5-15 colour photographs of recent works. Slides or digital medium are not accepted unless the works require it (net.art, video, etc) .The Fundación reserves the right to request the submission of original works.

___Applicants’ documentation must adhere strictly to what is outlined in these conditions, not exceeding the required amounts of information, visual material, catalogues, etc. Please note that Beca de Artes Plásticas should be written on the envelope.

___Applications that are not selected may be returned if a post-paid letter with address is enclosed or with a letter requesting the project to be delivered by a courier service (payment on arrival).

6. SELECTION

A jury appointed for the task will make the selection. The decision of the Fundación Marcelino Botín will be final. Once the date for applications is closed the jury will be published.

7. ADMISSION
