Bienal Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo, Parque Natural Cabo de Gata-Níjar 2006, ALBIAC
La primera convocatoria de ALBIAC es de ámbito nacional e internacional y se regirá por las siguientes bases, siendo el idioma oficial de presentación el español en primer lugar y en segundo lugar el inglés.
1- Podrán participar los artistas españoles o extranjeros sin límite de edad de forma individual o conjunta (en este último caso se tendrá que identificar como único grupo, renunciando expresamente a la participación de los miembros de forma individual) de temática completamente libre en las modalidades de: pintura, escultura, fotografía, instalaciones, multimedia y land-art. Cualquier otra modalidad no contemplada en estas bases será resuelta por los miembros del jurado.
2- Los interesados deberán presentar una única solicitud firmada, según formulario modelo y documentación exigida que se deberá entregar en las sedes designadas al efecto de forma presencial, por correo certificado o mensajería.
3- No se aceptará ningún documento enviado por fax o por cualquier otro medio no definido en las presentes bases.
4- Sólo se podrá presentar una única obra original y para una única modalidad no presentada ni premiada anteriormente en ninguna otra convocatoria, concurso o evento similar.
5- La participación en esta convocatoria implica la plena aceptación de estas bases.
6- El Jurado estará formado por: D. Rafael Canogar, Dña. Rosa Olivares, Dña. Rosa Queralt, D. Fernando Huici, Dña. Tonia Raquejo y D. Antón Lamazares.
El fallo del jurado en cualquier fase será inapelable.
Los participantes tendrán que presentar junto con la solicitud por duplicado totalmente cumplimentada y firmada y (si no es así no se admitirá la misma) la siguiente documentación:
Fotocopia del Documento Nacional de Identidad o documento acreditativo de su nacionalidad y residencia.
Currículo artístico no superior a un A4 en papel.
CD-Rom enfundado y etiquetado con los datos completos del solicitante con inclusión de:
Dos únicas fotografías de la obra que va a presentar en formato JPG y tamaño máximo 1600 x 1200 px con indicación en el nombre de la fotografía del nombre del artista, modalidad, técnica y medidas en este orden. En caso de presentar una obra en la modalidad de video o cualquier otra no susceptible de fotografiar se adjuntará un CD-Rom o DVD en formato mpeg con un tamaño máximo de 20 MB, con indicación expresa en la ficha técnica.
Ficha técnica de la obra en formato Word con indicación del nombre y apellidos, documento nacional de identidad o documento acreditativo de la nacionalidad o residencia, nombre artístico o seudónimo, modalidad, título de la obra, año de realización, técnica, medidas, peso, valoración en euros € de la obra, IVA incluido, de la que se efectuará la retención correspondiente en caso de adquisición, en este orden.

Salvo selección de la obra por parte del jurado, mediante visualización del CD-Rom o DVD y por indicación en las siguientes bases, en ningún caso se admitirá la recepción de la obra original sin que medie una comunicación previa al solicitante.
Todos los gastos de envío correrán por cuenta y riesgo del solicitante.
8- Plazo y lugar de presentación
Toda la documentación se enviará hasta el día 1 de Mayo de 2006, incluido, a la siguiente dirección:

9- Los dossiers enviados para la selección no serán devueltos, pasarán al archivo documental de ALBIAC.
10- No se admitirá ninguna solicitud fuera de plazo. Una vez finalizado el mismo, los miembros del jurado pasarán a la fase de selección de obras.
11- La selección de las obras se hará a partir de los dossiers recibidos siendo el veredicto del jurado inapelable.
12- 2ª Fase de participación
Las obras originales seleccionadas por el jurado y previa comunicación a los artistas deberán ser entregadas personalmente o por agencia de transportes corriendo el artista solicitante con los gastos de transporte y seguro tanto de envío como de retorno. El embalaje a utilizar será consistente y reutilizable y en él se indicarán los datos del artista, dirección y título de la obra y se deberán presentar de forma adecuada para su montaje en la exposición. Las instalaciones deberán contar con todos los elementos que la componen, excepto aquellos que puedan utilizar las infraestructuras propias del espacio. Si alguna pieza requiriese instrucciones concretas de montaje, deberán detallarse y enviarse con la obra.
No se admitirán obras que no se correspondan con las entregadas en el dossier.
ALBIAC no se responsabilizará de posibles daños, roturas, pérdidas, deterioros o cualquier otro desperfecto que pudieran sufrir las obras, aunque pondrá el máximo celo en el cuidado de las obras recibidas, sin perjuicio de que el artista pueda contratar por su cuenta y a su cargo cualquier tipo de seguro que estime conveniente, comunicándoselo a ALBIAC.
13- Plazo y lugar de presentación
Las obras seleccionadas se enviarán del 8 al 25 de Mayo de 2006 en la siguiente dirección

14- No se admitirá ninguna obra fuera de plazo.
15- La presentación de la obra a ALBIAC conlleva la autorización expresa de su reproducción fotográfica y/o cualquier otro medio y la citación de los nombres de los artistas en cualquier formato que se estime necesario para la divulgación del evento, especialmente en los aspectos referidos a la promoción, difusión, comunicación y exhibición, incluido catálogo y página web. Igualmente, los artistas participantes autorizan la exposición de las obras seleccionadas y su devolución en los términos reseñados en estas bases. Los artistas y/o grupos representantes legítimos de las obras seleccionadas y/o adquiridas, aceptan la cesión a ALBIAC de los derechos totales de exhibición y reproducción de tales obras.
16- Se establece una bolsa de compra de 30.000 €. El jurado es el único órgano competente para seleccionar las obras premiadas.
17- La exposición de los artistas seleccionados se celebrará del 15 de Julio al 15 de Septiembre de 2006
18- Podrán retirar las obras sus autores, otra persona autorizada o una agencia de transporte y, para ello, será necesario presentar la debida autorización expresa firmada por el autor. Las obras serán entregadas en su propio embalaje reutilizable a portes debidos durante el mes de Octubre de 2006.
19- Las circunstancias no previstas en estas bases serán resueltas por la dirección de ALBIAC.

RULES OF REGISTRATION
The International Biennial of Contemporary Art, Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Reserve 2006, ALBIAC, in Almería, is the first cultural and environmental Andalusian initiative ever to be carried out at an institutional level which brings together different events and exhibitions of Contemporary Art in protected natural surroundings. It pursues a joint and shared development of a universal concept of the protection of Art and Nature where the principles of art materialize in a part of the environment whilst the latter in turn becomes an artistic backdrop.
How to register.
The first edition of ALBIAC is open to both national and international participants and will follow the rules set out below. The official language for entry will be firstly Spanish and secondly English.
1. Both Spanish and foreign artists are encouraged to take part, regardless of age, either individually or as a group (in this case the participants must identify themselves as a group and renounce participating individually) the theme is of free choice and the modalities are: painting, sculpture, photography, installations, multimedia and land-art. Any other modality which is not envisaged by these rules will be decided upon by the judges.
2. The applicants must hand in only one official signed entry form along with the necessary documents for taking part at the designated offices either personally, by registered post or courier.
3. Documents sent via fax or by any other means not specified in these regulations will not be accepted.
4. Only one original work of art can be presented and for only one modality and it must not have been presented or awarded at any other official announcement, contest or similar event.
5. The participation in this edition implies the full acceptance of these rules.
6. The panel of judges will be comprised of Mr. Rafael Canogar, Mrs. Rosa Olivares, Mrs. Rosa Queralt, Mr. Fernando Huici, Mrs. Tonia Raquejo and Mr. Antón Lamazares.
The jury's decision in any phase of the contest is final.
7. Part one of the Participation Process
Participants will have to present in duplicate along with their entry form (failure to do so will result in non-admittance) the following documents:
Photocopy of National Identity Card or document of proof of nationality and place of residence.
Artistic curriculum printed on one sheet of European size A4 paper.
CD-Rom in a sleeve and labelled with the complete personal details of the participant including:
Two photographs only in JPG format of the work of art being presented and of a maximum size of 1600 x 1200 px with the name of the photograph, name of the artist, modality, technique and the measurements, in this order. Should the work presented be in video or any other format which cannot be photographed, a CD-Rom or DVD in mpeg format should be presented of maximum size of 20 MB, with a clear indication in the credits.
Credits of the work of art in Word format with the following details in this order, name and surname, national identity card or proof of nationality or place of residence, artistic name and pseudonym, modality, name of the work of art, year of completion, technique, measurements, weight, value inclusive of V.A.T. in euros, and on which a retention tax will be applied should the work be purchased.
Clear project of the realization of the work of art, if applicable, in Word format in Arial 10 typeface and on no more than one A4 page.
Artistic curriculum in Word format in Arial 10 typeface on no more than one A4 page.
Personal details in Word format in Arial 10 typeface and on no more than one A4 page.
Except when selected by the jury, via viewing of the work of art on CD-Rom or DVD or by the means detailed above, under no circumstances will the receipt of the original work of art be accepted without specific and prior written request by the applicant.
All forwarding expenses will be for the applicant´s own risk and account.
8. Deadline and place of submission
All documentation must be forwarded before the 1st May 2006 inclusive, to the following address:

9. The documents sent for selection will not be returned and will form part of the database at ALBIAC.
10. No entries will be accepted after the deadline. After that date, the judges will commence the selection process.
11. The selection of the works of art will be carried out by viewing the files received and the jury's decision is final.
12. Part Two of the Participation Process
The original works of art chosen by the judges and on prior communication to the artists must be handed in either in person or via freight forwarder, in which case both the cost of transport and return transport as well as insurance will be for the artist’s account. The packaging must be adequate and reusable and must have the artist's name, address and the name of the work of art and should be presented in an adequate form for assembly. The pieces must contain all the elements of which they comprise, except in those cases where the infrastructures are available at the place where they will be displayed. If any piece should require special assembly instructions, these must be detailed and included.
Works of art that do not correspond to those included in the files will not be accepted.
Disclaimer: ALBIAC will not be held responsible for possible damages, breakages, loss, deterioration or any other impairment that the works of art might suffer. However, the utmost will be done to ensure the care of the works received and the artist can contract whatever insurance he/she deems necessary, in which case, ALBIAC must be notified.

14. No work of art will be accepted after the deadline.
15. Presentation of the work of art to ALBIAC implies the authorization of its photographic reproduction and/or any other means of reproduction as well as the quoting of the artists' names in any format that is deemed necessary for popularizing of the event, specially with regards to promotion, publicity, communication and exhibition, including catalogues and web pages. The participating artists also authorize the exhibition of the selected works of art and their return in accordance with these regulations. The artists and/or groups, legitimate representatives of the works of art selected and/or acquired, accept the transfer to ALBIAC of all the rights of exhibition and reproduction of the works of art.
16. A pool of purchasers of 30.000 € is established. The judges will be the only competent selection party.
17. The exhibition of the selected artists will be held from the 15th July to the 15th September 2006.
18. The artists, an authorized party or a freight forwarder, in which case a signed authorization by the artist must be provided, can collect the works of art. They will be handed over in their original, reusable packaging and will be returned collect during October 2006.
19. Those circumstances that arise and have not been considered in these regulations will be resolved by the management of ALBIAC..
