I BIENAL INTERNACIONAL DE CERÁMICA DE MARRATXÍ
1. La Bienal Internacional de Cerámica de Marratxí tiene como objetivo fomentar la creación en el ámbito de la cerámica artística y promocionar el nombre de Marratxí como municipio ceramista.
2. Pueden participar, tanto de forma individual como colectiva, todas las personas ceramistas de cualquier país del mundo.
3. Las obras que se presenten, en un máximo de tres, deben incluirse en el concepto de obra única —no seriada ni vinculada con el diseño cerámico—, deben ser originales, no haber participado en otros concursos, estar realizadas con materiales cerámicos y ser cocidas a más de 960 ºC.
4. No se admitirán obras que excedan los 2 metros en la dimensión más grande, ni tampoco las que no lleguen a los 0,40 metros.
5. Las solicitudes de inscripción deben ser enviadas al Área de Cultura y Educación del Ayuntamiento de Marratxí, en la calle Santa Bárbara, s/n, 07141 Marratxí (Illes Balears), antes del día 9 de marzo de 2005 (fecha de entrada). La inscripción ha de formalizarse con: la solicitud de participación (www.marratxi.es), la ficha con las características técnicas de las obras, un currículum profesional del autor o la autora, y tantas diapositivas de las obras como sean necesarias para recibirlas correctamente, las cuales deberán ser presentadas sobre fondo neutro en formato de 24 x 36 mm y un marco de 5 x 5 cm. También serán aceptadas las imágenes fotográficas de las obras grabadas en un CD o las que se envíen por correo electrónico en formato JPG con buena resolución (Esta dirección de correo electrónico está siendo protegida contra los robots de spam. 6. De entre las solicitudes presentadas, el Comité de Selección que en su momento se designe elegirá los finalistas a partir de las diapositivas y de la documentación remitida. Su decisión será notificada inmediatamente a todos los participantes.
7. Toda la documentación que acompañe a las solicitudes de inscripción pasará a formar parte del Archivo del Ayuntamiento de Marratxí.
8. Las obras que resulten seleccionadas deberán ser enviadas al Ayuntamiento de Marratxí antes del 28 de abril. El incumplimiento de este plazo supondrá la descalificación.
9. El jurado que hará la selección de piezas y otorgará los premios estará formado por personas competentes en la materia y su veredicto será inapelable.
10. Las obras seleccionadas estarán expuestas desde el 26 de mayo hasta el 2 de julio en el Museo de Cerámica de Marratxí.
11. Todas las obras premiadas pasarán a ser propiedad del Ayuntamiento de Marratxí e ingresarán en el Museo de Cerámica de Marratxí.
12. Los premios estarán sujetos a la retención fiscal que corresponda, según la legislación vigente. La persona galardonada se compromete a ir personalmente al acto de entrega de premios.
13. Las obras no premiadas, una vez acabada la exposición, serán devueltas por el medio que elijan las personas concursantes. Si quieren recogerlas personalmente, el plazo acabará el 2 de agosto, pasado el cual se entenderá que los autores o las autoras renuncian a sus obras.
14. La Comisión Organizadora de esta Bienal tomará todas las medidas de seguridad a su alcance para lograr una mejor conservación de las obras.
15. Solamente por el hecho de concursar se entiende que la persona que participe acepta todas y cada una de las condiciones que figuran en estas bases. Por lo que se refiere a todo lo que no se especifica o para cualquier duda que pueda surgir de la interpretación de las bases, la organización se reserva la competencia expresa y exclusiva.
16. Es responsabilidad de los autores y las autoras hacer llegar las obras hasta el Ayuntamiento de Marratxí y embalarlas correctamente, ya que este embalaje se utilizará para devolverlas. Los gastos del transporte de ida serán a cargo de los concursantes. Los gastos del transporte de vuelta—después de la exposición— serán a cargo de la organización.

I INTERNATIONAL CERAMICS BIENNALE OF MARRATXÍ
Terms and Conditions
1. The aim of the International Ceramics Biennale of Marratxí is to promote creation within the field of art ceramics and to highlight the name of Marratxí as a ceramics centre.
2. The contest is open to all ceramic makers from all over the world on an individual as well as a collective basis.
3. Participants may present a maximum of three pieces, which must fall into the category of unique works, i.e., not part of a series or linked to ceramic design. They must be originals which have not taken part in other contests and hey must be made of ceramic materials baked at temperatures above 960 ºC.
4. Works which are larger than 2 metres in their largest dimension or smaller than 0.40 metres will not be admitted.
5. Enrolment applications must be sent to Àrea de Cultura i Educació de l'Ajuntament de Marratxí, Carrer de Santa Bàrbara, s/n, 07141 Marratxí (Balearic Islands), by the 12th of March 2005 (date of entry). Enrolment must be accompanied by: the participation application form (www.marratxi.es), a card with the technical specifications of the works, the author's professional curriculum vitae, and as many slides of the works as are needed in order to receive them correctly. Slides must be presented with a neutral background in 24 x 36 mm format and with a 5 x 5 cm. frame. 6. The appointed Selection Committee will examine received applications and choose the finalists from the slides and received documentation. They will immediately notify all participants of their decision.
7. All the documentation that accompanies the enrolment applications will be entered into the Marratxí Municipal Archives.
8. The selected works must be sent to Marratxí Municipal Council by April 28th. Works that are not received by this date will be disqualified.
9. Both the Selection Committee and the panel of judges who will award the prizes will be made up of people with experience in this field and their verdict cannot be appealed.
10. The selected works will be exhibited at the Marratxí Ceramics Museum from May 26th to July 2nd and all of them will be included in the catalogue that will be brought out especially for the Biennale.
11. All the prize winning works will become the property of Marratxí Municipal Council and will be kept in the Marratxí Ceramics Museum.
12. Prizes are subject to taxation in accordance with current legislation. Prize-winners commit themselves to attend the prize awarding ceremony in person.
13. Works that have not won a prize will be returned by the means chosen by contestants. If you wish to collect them in person, you can do so by August 2nd, after which it will be taken for granted that the authors renounce their works.
14. The Organising Committee of this Biennale will do everything within its power to ensure the proper conservation of the works.
15. By the mere act of participating participants automatically accept each and every one of the conditions mentioned in this document. The organisers reserve express and exclusive competence over any matters that are not explicitly mentioned above or any possible queries that may arise from the interpretation of these conditions.
16. It is the authors' responsibility to transport the works to the Marratxí Municipal Council and to package them properly because this same packaging will be used when returning the works. Transport costs for sending works to the Biennale will be paid by the contestants. Transport costs for returning works —after the exhibition— will be paid by the organisers.
