46è CERTAMEN INTERNACIONAL D’ARTS PLÀSTIQUES DE POLLENÇA 2009
L’Ajuntament de Pollença convoca la 46ena edició del Certamen Internacional d’Arts Plàstiques i convida a participar-hi tots aquells artistes que vulguin mostrar la seva pròpia concepció de l’art amb els diferents motius, tècniques i modalitats que permet la creació artística.
B a s e s
1. Podran participar en el Certamen Internacional d’Arts Plàstiques tots els artistes interessats qualsevol que sigui la seva nacionalitat i residència.
2. Es consideren lliures els temes de les obres i les tècniques que s’utilitzin i s’entendrà que la manera com es presenti l’obra és la que l’artista considera adequada per a la seva exposició.
3. S’haurà de presentar un dossier format DIN A4 que inclogui els següents apartats:
a.- Fitxa d’inscripció.
b.- Currículum artístic.
c.- Entre 5 i 8 fotografies de les obres disponibles per exposar, en el cas de ser seleccionats, amb la corresponent fitxa tècnica (mides o durada, tècnica i any de realització) i econòmica (import subjecte a les retencions i impostos que marca
la llei).
d.- Si l’artista ho considera oportú, un text breu que descrigui conceptualment el conjunt d’obra presentat i els camps d’interès de l’autor (màxim un full).
e.- Material gràfic dels darrers tres anys (catàleg, fotos, ressenyes bibliogràfiques i crítiques, etc...). que es consideri oportú.
En cap cas s’acceptaran dossiers en format digital: únicament en el cas d’aquells artistes que treballin directament amb el mitjà. Els documents hauran de ser compatibles amb PC i hauran de facilitar el programa necessari (instal.exe o autoexecutable).
Els artistes que treballin en vídeo hauran de presentar còpies en format DVD.
4. Els dossiers s’hauran de lliurar o trametre al Centre Cultural Guillem Cifre de Colonya, c/ de Guillem Cifre de Colonya, núm. 33, C.P. 07460 Pollença (Mallorca). El darrer dia per presentar els dossiers serà dia 4 d’abril de 2009 i no s’admetrà cap dossier fora d’aquesta data.
5. El jurat, designat per l’Ajuntament de Pollença, estarà format pels següents membres:
President : Batle de Pollença. o persona en qui delegui.
Vocals:
Sra. Rosa Olivares. Editora i crítica d’art.
Sr. Alex Mitrani. Crític d’art.
Sra. Maria Josep Mulet. Directora del Departament d’Història de l’Art de la UIB.
Sra. Laura Torrado. Artista a qui s’adquirí obra en la passada edició.

6. Aquest jurat seleccionarà els artistes i les obres d’entre els dossiers rebuts, i se’ls convidarà a participar a l’exposició que s’efectuarà en el recinte del Convent de Sant Domingo durant l’estiu de 2009.
7. La selecció es farà pública dia 22 de maig de 2009. Els artistes no seleccionats que vulguin recuperar el seu dossier hauran d’adjuntar amb aquest un sobre de devolució degudament emplenat amb l’adreça de retorn i el franqueig pagat. En el cas que els dossiers no indiquin la seva devolució en el moment de la inscripció, es consideraran abandonats pel seu titular i passaran a ser de l’Ajuntament de Pollença, el qual en podrà disposar amb absoluta llibertat.
8. Els artistes seleccionats s’hauran de fer càrrec de la meitat de les despeses que origini el transport de la seva obra, del 50% restant se’n farà càrrec l’Ajuntament de Pollença, fins a un màxim de 180 € per artista. L’Ajuntament de Pollença no es responsabilitzarà dels desperfectes o pèrdues que es produeixin durant el transport, i alhora suggereix que els embalatges siguin reutilitzables.
9. L’Ajuntament de Pollença crearà un fons de 12.020 € que s’utilitzarà per comprar una o vàries de les obres exposades, les quals passaran a formar part de la col·lecció del Museu Municipal de Pollença. Les adquisicions es duran a terme seguint la recomanació del jurat per una quantitat mínima de 3.606 €.
10. La proposta d’adquisició es comunicarà als artistes el dia de la clausura de l’exposició.
11. La Fundació Colonya i el Club Pollença crearan el seu propi fons de compra.
12. Els autors de les obres seleccionades es comprometran a autoritzar la seva reproducció a efectes de divulgació del Certamen mitjançant els suports que consideri l’Ajuntament, o terceres persones a instància seva, durant la vigència del Certamen.
Aquest termini de vigència serà d’un any comptador a partir del moment de la decisió del jurat. L’autorització dels autors per a l’ús d’aquestes obres no suposarà cap tipus de despesa addicional per a l’Ajuntament.
13. Els autors de les obres presentades a l’exposició del Certamen disposaran d’un termini màxim d’un mes -a partir de la clausura- per poder retirar-les o per demanar que els siguin trameses; en cas contrari es consideraran cedides i, per tant, passaran a formar part del patrimoni de l’Ajuntament.
14. Els artistes que presentin el seu dossier es comprometran a complir i respectar la decisió del jurat i tot el que estableixen aquestes Bases.

The Council of Pollença hereby announces the 46 th edition of the International Plastic Arts Competition and invites the participation of all those artists who wish to show their personal concept of art, with different motives, techniques and forms that artistic creation allows.
C o n d i t i o n s
1. Any artist interested in competing may take part in the International Plastic Arts Competition, whatever the nationality or residence.
2. The themes of the works and the techniques used are unrestricted and it will be understood that the way in which the work is presented is the one the artist considers to be adequate for its exhibition.
3. Artists will present a DIN-A4 dossier which will include:
a.- Registration form.
b.- Curriculum vitae
c.- Five to eight photographs of the works available for exhibition. Should they be chosen, with their corresponding technical and economic information sheet (legal taxes included).
d.- Statement: if the artist considers it convenient, a brief text containing a conceptual description of the whole work presented and areas of interest can be included (one DIN-A4 maximum).
e.- Graphic material from the last three years (catalogues, photos, bibliographical essays and reviews, etc.) No dossiers in digital form will be accepted, the exception being those sent by artists who work this technique or form. Documents must be compatible on PC and the necessary software must be handed in (instal.exe or autoexecutable).
Artists who work video must send their copies in DVD.
4. Dossiers will be handed in or sent to the Centre Cultural Guillem Cifre de Colonya, C/. de Guillem Cifre de Colonya, 33, 07460 Pollença (Majorca, Spain). The last day for submitting the dossier will be the 4th April 2009 and no dossier will be admitted after this date.
5. The judges, named by the Pollença Council, will be made up as follows:
President: The Mayor of Pollença. or his delegate.
Members:
Sra. Rosa Olivares. Art critic and Editor.
Sr. Alex Mitrani. Art critic.
Sra. Maria Josep Mulet. Principal of the History of Art Department at the UIB.
Sra. Laura Torrado. Plastic artist.
Secretary:
Sra. Roser Pérez Merino. Specialist from the Pollença Museum.
6. This judges will select artists and works from the dossiers received and will invite them to take part in the exhibition to be held in Saint Domingo Cloister in summer 2009.
7. The selection will be made public on May 22th 2009. Those artists not selected who wish to get the dossier back must include, within the dossier, an empty stamped envelope with name and address written down on it so as to be send the dossier back. In case artists do not state their wish to get his/her dossier back and adjoin the stamped envelope, dossiers will be considered left out by the artist and they will become property of the council, who will decide what to do with the abandoned dossier.
8. The selected artists will be responsible for half of the transport costs for their work; Pollença Council will subsidize the 50% of the mentioned transport up to a maximum of 180 € per artist. Pollença Council accepts no responsibility for any damage or loss during the transport. We suggest that packaging should be reusable.
9. Pollença Council will create a fund of 12.020 € to be used to purchase one or more of the exhibited works which will then become part of the Museum of Pollença collection. Acquisitions will be made following the recommendations of the judges for a minimum of 3.606 €.
10. The proposal of acquisition will be made to the artists on the closing day of the exhibition.
11. The Fundació Colonya and the Club Pollença will create their own purchasing fund.
12. The artists of the selected works will undertake to authorize their reproduction to promote the competition through the support chosen by the Council or third parties on its behalf, during the term of the present competition. This term will be one year starting the moment of the judges’ decision. The artists’ authorization to use these works will not suppose any additional cost for the council.
13. The authors of the works presented at the competition will have a maximum period of one month– from the closure – to remove the works or ask for them to be returned, otherwise these will be considered donated and, as such, will become part of the Council patrimony.
14. Artists who present their dossier undertake to fulfill and respect the judges’ decisions and everything that is established in these Conditions.
