Located above the arctic circle in Swedish Lapland, the internationally renown ICEHOTEL is a platform for ephemeral art. Using only ice and snow for material, ICEHOTEL is constructed anew every winter and melts down in late spring. Every year artists from around the globe are selected to design and construct the ICEHOTEL suites. More than just hotel rooms, by day these suites form the gallery of the hotel, visited by 30,000 international guests during the season. Experience with the material is not a requirement, artists from all disciplines are invited to apply.

The International Fund for the Promotion of Culture finances in part projects within the field of cultural development, which are proposed by institutions, organizations, associations or individuals. The Administrative Council on the basis of precise selection criteria selects the cultural projects to be financed. Moreover, the Fund administers the UNESCO-Aschberg Fellowships for Artists, intended for artists selected by an International Artistic Committee. Applications for the financing of projects or for fellowships should be sent directly to the Secretariat of the Fund at UNESCO, according to the procedure described below. El Fondo Internacional para la Promoción de la Cultura financia parcialmente proyectos en el campo del desarrollo cultural, presentados por instituciones, organizaciones y asociaciones o personas físicas. El Consejo de Administración elige, basándose en criterios de selección precisos, proyectos culturales que serán financiados. Además, el Fondo administra las Becas para artistas UNESCO-Aschberg, destinadas a artistas seleccionados por un Comité artístico internacional. Las candidaturas para la financiación de proyectos o para las becas deberán ser enviadas directamente a la Secretaría del Fondo en la UNESCO, según las modalidades indicadas en esta página. |
